Brooklyn Sidewalk Shed and Scaffolding builds, maintains and takes down scaffolding, sheds, barriers and fencing across all five boroughs. One Brooklyn team handles the job, and we file the DOB paperwork for the work we install.
Our crews build and take down every setup, for buildings in Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. A brownstone facade in Brooklyn and a tower on Park Avenue get the same team and the same process.
Property owners and managers with facade, roof or exterior work coming. General contractors who need a scaffold subcontractor that reaches the job's borough. Co-op and condo boards that must show their neighbors who they hired and why.
Send the building address, the borough, what you need and your target start date, and tell us if a permit already exists. We review the details and quote the job.
A building often needs a sidewalk shed and scaffolding at once. Each piece below links to its page, and our scaffolding services page lists them all.
Crews stand on these and work their way up the facade. We build them from pipe or from frame sections, and the usual jobs are facade repair, repointing and painting.
When the work runs the full height of a facade, we hang a platform from the roof and the crew rides it from floor to floor.
A shed is a covered walkway over the sidewalk, so pedestrians keep walking while crews work above. We build it to your frontage and file the DOB permit before work starts.
When a job spills into the street or a parking lane, we set Jersey barriers between moving cars and your crew.
A fence around the lot keeps the public out and gives crews a protected place to stage materials.
Need scaffolding and a shed on the same building? Call (929) 566-7313 and we price both together.
Debris falling or a DOB order on your building? Call (929) 566-7313 any hour. Arrival time depends on the location, site conditions and crew availability.
This is a selection of our work, not every job. Here are three we can point to by address, with the service and the year.
Clients from a Brooklyn brownstone repair and a Manhattan facade repointing job, in their own words.
Brooklyn Sidewalk Shed and Scaffolding put up a shed for our brownstone repair… The crew showed up on time, kept the walkway clear for neighbors, and took it down as soon as work finished.

Manhattan, 2025
We hired Brooklyn Sidewalk Shed and Scaffolding for a facade repointing job on a tight lot. Their team handled the setup smoothly and made the rental process simple.
You deal with the same people from the site visit to the day the structure comes down.
We work out of Brooklyn, on blocks where brownstones and rowhouses leave narrow sidewalks. Our 2019 shed at 136 Chester Ave is one example. The same team serves Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Read about scaffolding in Brooklyn or see the areas we serve across all five boroughs.

Every sidewalk shed needs a DOB permit before work starts, and a supported scaffold needs one over 40 feet. We file for the work we install. DOB decides every filing, so we promise no outcome.

Buildings taller than six stories need a facade inspection every five years under FISP, also called Local Law 11. If the inspector rates a wall Unsafe, the owner must put protection up immediately, usually a shed. Repairs follow within 90 days of the report filing unless DOB grants an extension, and repairs need scaffolding. See the NYC scaffolding and sidewalk shed rules.
